VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION PROCESS

Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer for Heaven on Earth Society for Animals. Volunteers are the heart of our organization and we rely on you to fulfill our mission to improve the quality of life for homeless animals. All new volunteers must attend an orientation before beginning their duties. 

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Sanctuary Volunteers

As a Sanctuary Volunteer, you will socialize, brush and play with the cats. You will also help with cleaning and maintaining the sanctuary to ensure their comfort. Volunteer hours at the sanctuary are Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. There is no required time commitment and we welcome you to come as often as possible. If you are between 13 and 17 years old, a minor permission form must be filled out and signed by a legal guardian. This parental consent is required.If you are 12 years or younger, a legal guardian must be present with you during the orientation process and at all times while volunteering. Spay/Neuter Transport Program Volunteers

Heaven on Earth Society for Animals Spay & Neuter Transport Program offers free transportation to and from FixNation, a spay & neuter clinic located in the San Fernando Valley. FixNation’s spay & neuter services are free for feral cats and low cost for companion kitties.

We are currently looking for volunteers to help with some of the driving. Morning and afternoon shifts are available. Morning hours are between 6:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. for pick up and drop off to clinic. Afternoon hours are between 3:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. for pick up from clinic and drop off at home. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday so this is a weekday volunteer opportunity.

Our transport program currently services the San Fernando Valley and surrounding areas. We are particularly seeking volunteers from SANTA CLARITA, LOS ANGELES and the WEST SIDE as these areas are high-need areas.

Volunteer drivers use their own vehicles so you must carry your own auto insurance. You will be reimbursed for your mileage. For more information, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Adoptions Volunteers

If you would like to help our cats find forever homes, you may enjoy being an Adoptions Volunteer. Currently, Heaven on Earth shows our special kitties at the Van Nuys Petco (5850 Sepulveda Blvd.) from 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoons. Adoptions consist of setup (tables, cages, etc.), showing kitties, and teardown (return cats and equipment to the sanctuary). You will also serve as an ambassador for Heaven on Earth by answering questions from the public about our organization and our cats. The minimum required time commitment is one Saturday a month from 11:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. (to accommodate for setup and breakdown). Of course, more than one Saturday a month is welcomed!
