Noelle came to us when her owner, a private rescuer, passed away in the spring of 2007, leaving behind a number of cats and kittens. The younger ones quickly found groups willing to take them, but Noelle and her companion--a senior tortie named Snookems--didn't.
Petite Noelle suffers from stomatitis (chronic, painful inflammation of the mouth and gums) and only had four teeth left when we met her. So despite beautiful bulbous blue eyes and a quiet charm to melt even the coolest heart, her adoption chances were slim. And that is how she and Snookems came to live with us, taking up residence together in the Starks Room at Heaven on Earth's sanctuary.
Noelle continues to require regular medication--removing a stomatitis kitty's teeth is not always sufficient to control this chronic, though fortunately non-contagious, disease of autoimmune origins. She also needs help keeping her coat neatly groomed, as a self-administered tongue bath is understandably unappealing when one's mouth is tender. Preferring the privacy of cat tree cubbies during the day, Noelle usually chooses the evening to display her most endearing habits, like pushing in front of whomever else you're petting (though admittedly that's more endearing to us than to the pushee).
Sadly, Noelle's friend, Snookems, succumbed to cancer in early 2008 so, now more than ever, she needs all the support she can get. Please let Noelle know that you care and sponsor her today.
