FUR Foster Program

The FUR (Foster-U-Rescued) Foster Program was created for members of the community who need help finding a home for a cat they have rescued. 

Here is how the program works: 

Heaven on Earth Can Provide:

  • Vaccinations, de-worming medicine and flea treatment for free
  • A microchip for the cat for free
  • Referral to low-cost clinics for FeLV/FIV testing, spay/neuter and other medical issues
  • City vouchers good for $30 towards spay/neuter
  • A place on our website’s Adoptions Page (picture and bio of kitty)
  • A spot at our Adoption Events so you can show the cat to the public
  • Proper screening of potential adopters (application)
  • Reimburse out-of-pocket medical expenses up to the cost of the adoption fee if kitty is adopted through our organization. Please keep all receipts!

Advantage of Being a FUR Foster:

  •  We have years of experience placing cats into loving “forever” homes and will use that experience to help you find the best home for the cat
  • You will have access to discount vets, and programs saving you $$
  • You will gain extra exposure to the public through our website and adoption events
  • Heaven on Earth’s adopters sign an agreement with a lifetime return policy reducing the risk of the cat ending up in the pound, abandoned on the streets, or unnecessarily euthanized
  • You still have the flexibility to place the cat on your own if you feel you have found a suitable home


What You Would Need to Do:

  • Sign and return our FUR Foster Agreement
  • You would care for the cat within your own home until a new home is found
  • You are required to pay out-of-pocket for the cat’s spay/neuter, testing for FeLV/FIV, and any other medical care that the cat may incur while you are fostering.
  • You would fill out an expense report within 60 days of adoption in order to receive reimbursement (receipts required)
  • You are free to place the cat on your own, though reimbursement would not be available in that case
